The Daishonin reminds us that,
"The treasures of the heart
are the most valuable of all."*
We, who advance along the noble path
of kosen-rufu,
are the world's wealthiest of the heart!
In cheerful vibrant spirits,
let our voices ring out
with conviction!
*"More valuable than treasures in a storehouse are the treasures of the body, and the treasures of the heart are the most valuable of all. From the time you read this letter on, strive to accumulate the treasures of the heart!"

"Basing ourselves on the Daishonin's writings doesn't mean simply revering them as sacred texts. Nor is it just lecturing and commenting on them, or turning to them as a source of comfort. Shakyamuni Buddha taught that we should base our lives on the Law. We take the correct Law and teachings of Nichiren Daishonin as the foundation of our lives. We place our faith in the Gohonzon and strive to internalise the Daishonin's writings as the way to free ourselves from a life consumed with suffering and be victorious.
"There are countless SGI members around the world who, taking heart from the Daishonin's words 'Winter always turns to spring' (WND-1, 536), have weathered harsh winters of adversity to usher in brilliant springtimes of hope. Our members everywhere, striving together in the shared struggle of kosen-rufu, have embraced the living philosophy found in the Daishonin's writings and put it into practise in their lives. They are all heroic Bodhisattvas of the Earth."
