-- TO MY FRIENDS --
The key to the expansion
of kosen-rufu
lies in our sincere efforts to
individually encourage each other.
By offering heartfelt words
to each of our fellow members,
let's try to strengthen
the bonds between us
and imbue our hearts
with a fresh breeze and fragrance
of happiness!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Though I may be a person of little ability, I have reverently given myself to the study of the Mahayana. A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet."

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"The first of the four universal vows* that bodhisattvas make when they begin their Buddhist practice is the vow to save innumerable living beings.

"The commitment to relieving the suffering of all, to dedicating oneself to the happiness of humanity – establishing this compassionate spirit in one's heart is the first step on the path to attaining Buddhahood.

"Becoming a person who can pray for the happiness of others puts us on the sure path to enlightenment, the way to eternal growth and victory in life."

The Buddhism of the Sun—Illuminating the World, [58] Creating a Century of Humanism in Which All Can Shine—Part 2 [0f 5], We Owe a Debt of Gratitude to All Living Beings,  February 2020 issue of Daibyaku Renge, translation released December 2020

* Four universal vows: Four vows made by bodhisattvas when they embark on Buddhist practice: (1) to save innumerable living beings, (2) to eradicate unlimited earthly desires, (3) to master inexhaustible doctrines and (4) to attain unsurpassed enlightenment.
