"For instance, hungry spirits perceive the Ganges River as fire, human beings perceive it as water, and heavenly beings perceive it as amrita. Though the water is the same, it appears differently according to one's karmic reward from the past."

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"In a letter of encouragement to his disciple Nichimyo, whose seeking spirit in faith continued to burn bright even amid great hardship, Nichiren Daishonin writes:
'Strengthen your resolve [in faith] more than ever… Blue dye comes from indigo, but when something is repeatedly dyed in it, the colour is better than that of the indigo plant. The Lotus Sutra remains the same, but if you repeatedly strengthen your resolve, your colour, [the brilliance you radiate] will be better than that of others, and you will receive more blessings than they do.' (WND – 1, 615)
"Our Buddhist faith and practice enable us to open the way to happiness no matter what our circumstances. If we strengthen our faith more than ever, particularly when times are difficult, we can bring forth endless courage and wisdom."
The Ikeda Kaiyo-Kai General Meeting, Expanding a Hope-Filled Network of Happiness and Peace, Seikyo Newspaper Nov. 14th, 2020, translation released February 2021.
