--- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ---

"I'd like to share with you the words of the Austrian poet Rainer Maria Rilke (1875–1926), a

contemporary of founding Soka Gakkai president Tsunesaburo Makiguchi: 'Life is in the

right, always,' and 'Everything that makes more of you than you have ever been, even in

your best hours, is right."** These words may be a little difficult to understand, but they

contain a very profound message. The poet is urging us to push beyond our current best.

"The path of personal growth is the correct path through life.

"Even if things don't go exactly as you hope ... if you resolve to make your situation an opportunity for growth, you will be on the right track and

ultimately achieve victory in life. As long as you have the spirit to keep on developing

yourself, you will never be on the wrong track. For that reason, there is nothing to fear."

—From "Dialogue for the Future."

The twenty-second instalment of "Passing the Baton to You, My Young Successors" Walking the Path of Personal Growth, was carried in the October 1st, 2025, issue of the Mirai [Future] Journal, the Soka Gakkai monthly newspaper for the junior high and high school divisions. The following is the English translation, published as SGI Newsletter, No. 11902, October 22nd, 2025.
