-- DAILY GOSHO --
"If one's heavy karma from the past is not expiated within this lifetime, one must undergo the sufferings of hell in the future, but if one experiences extreme hardship in this life (because of the Lotus Sutra), the sufferings of hell will vanish instantly. And when one dies, one will obtain the blessings of the human and heavenly worlds, as well as those of the three vehicles and the one vehicle."

--- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ---
"Bodhisattva Never Disparaging's behaviour was always proactive, positive and courageous. As it states in the Lotus Sutra, 'If he happened to see any of the four kinds of believers far off in the distance, he would purposely go to where they were, bow to them, and speak words of praise' (LSOC20, 308–9).
"Continually taking the initiative and encouraging others towards their inner transformation is our noble mission as emissaries of the Buddha. It is the essence of the Buddha's own behaviour. When we pray with profound determination, courage rises and we come up with creative and innovative ways to actively engage with others."
The 104th and final instalment of President Ikeda's study lecture series "The Buddhism of the Sun, Illuminating the World" was carried in the December 2023 issue of The Daibyakurenge. This is the 14th and last of a multipart lecture on key passages from The Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings and focuses on the "Bodhisattva Never Disparaging" chapter of the Lotus Sutra. The following is the English translation, published as SGI Newsletter, No. 11597, August 14th, 2024. Believing in Human Goodness
