To all those people who so kindly support our various different activities, in particular by offering their homes for our meetings,
and their family members who may well not be SGI members,
let's take the utmost of care and attention to express our deep appreciation by "showing them the same respect we would a buddha."*

"Even in Sado, the Daishonin demonstrated his tremendous life-state by writing: 'I feel immeasurable delight even though I am now an exile' (WND-1, 386). And while in prison for upholding his beliefs during World War II, founding Soka Gakkai president Tsunesaburo Makiguchi declared: 'I am not the least bit anxious' and 'Depending on
one's outlook, even hell can be enjoyable.' We should take their examples to heart. The courage, hope, dynamism, fulfilment, gratitude, feeling, and joy that rise up within one's own heart--these are the 'treasures of the heart,' and the goal of our practice is to acquire those treasures. This represents a revolution in the view of happiness, a 'happiness revolution.'"
