"Sharing the Daishonin's teachings with others is the essence of Buddhist practice in the Latter Day of the Law, and is the true mission of the Bodhisattvas of the Earth and disciples of the Daishonin....The movement to spread the Buddhist philosophy that
will enable all people to bring forth their Buddha nature is the basic struggle in contemporary society to revive humanity and firmly establish the dignity and value of all life.
"To carry this a step further, from the perspective of its social responsibility, the purpose of the Soka Gakkai, as an organisation of lay individuals upholding Buddhism, is to promote a flourishing culture based on respect for the dignity and value of life. Again, on the individual level, Soka Gakkai members should strive to make a
positive contribution to society by making their society a more harmonious place for all people and working to create communities and workplaces filled with humane values."
