-- TO MY FRIENDS --
The offering of daimoku by people
who strive wholeheartedly in propagating the Mystic Law,
is the highest form of memorial that can possibly be conducted
for the sake of our ancestors and dear ones who have died.*
Let us advance together with each other throughout eternity,
sharing the bonds of happiness across the three existences!
* Japan has a tradition of conducting memorial services as well as visiting graves of ancestors during the period of the spring and autumnal equinoxes.

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Yet you must grit your teeth and never slacken in your faith. Be as fearless as Nichiren when he acted and spoke out before Hei no Saemonnojo."
(Letter to the Brothers - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol.1, page 498) Selection source: "Kyo no Hosshin", Seikyo Shimbun, September 23rd, 2009

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"The German author Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832) frequently emphasised the importance of making a new start every day. By living each day with a totally fresh attitude and resolve, we can liberate ourselves from lingering disappointment and complaint. By taking one steady step forward after another, we can lead a noble life of mission. This is the way of Soka, the path of mentor and disciple dedicated to the Mystic Law.
"Mr. Toda said: 'Everything we experience in our lives comes to have meaning. We realise that nothing, not the smallest thing, is ever wasted. This is the great benefit of the Mystic Law.' 'Nothing, not the smallest thing, is ever wasted'--how true Mr. Toda's observation is! From the perspective of faith, everything has a meaning.
"Soka Gakkai activities are a noble form of Buddhist practice in which our thoughts and actions are turned to others' happiness and well-being. At times, we may encounter insults and abuse in society, just as the Daishonin predicts in his writings. But please remember that those who have done their best and challenged themselves to the fullest are strong."
