[SGI-ToMyFriends-Wagatomo] To My Friends & Daily Gosho Sep 16th + Daily Enc. Sep 17th

A translation of President Ikeda's "To My Friends" published in the Seikyo Shimbun and more.

-- TO MY FRIENDS --
The Gosho states:
"The deeper the roots, the more prolific the branches."*
The efforts that we put into building a meaningful "today"
go a long way into effecting the future.
Let us construct a solid foundation today for the sake of a
future that will last for ten thousand years and beyond.

* Gosho: On Repaying Debts of Gratitude - WND-1, page 736, "The deeper the roots, the more prolific the branches. The farther the source, the longer the stream."

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Those who believe in the Lotus Sutra are as if in winter, but winter always turns to spring."

(Winter Always Turns to Spring - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol.1, page 536) Selection source: "Kyo no Hosshin", Seikyo Shimbun, September 16th, 2009

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Health is not simply the absence of illness. Nor is it simply physical well being. Genuine health is the state in which both body and mind are vigorously and soundly engaged in the process of creation. Real health is the ability to overcome every form of adversity and use even the worst of circumstances as a springboard for new growth and development.

"Simply put, the essence of health is the constant renewal and rejuvenation of life. The fundamental entity that makes this renewal of life possible can be perceived within us as the world of Buddhahood, or the life-state of the Buddha. And I believe that Buddhism, which opens the way to this renewal of life in the real world, teaches the way to keep health at the most fundamental level."
