-- TO MY FRIENDS --
All of you in the SGI,
who are so selflessly dedicating yourselves
to the achievement of kosen-rufu,
are like great suns of hope to the world!
It is absolutely certain that the palace within your lives,
thanks to all your efforts,
will shine with enormous great benefit and good fortune.

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Although I and my disciples may encounter various difficulties, if we do not harbour doubts in our hearts, we will as a matter of course attain Buddhahood."

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Shin'ichi's philosophy as 'a warrior for kosen-rufu' was to make every single thing perfect and complete.

"In the February Campaign in Tokyo's Kamata Chapter, the summer guidance tour in Sapporo, the Osaka Campaign, and in the propagation campaign in Yamaguchi Prefecture, he had planned everything with tremendous care and prepared painstakingly. He never held a single meeting that was neither focused nor exploding with joy. To do otherwise would be an insult to those who made time to attend the meeting; it would be stealing their time, he believed.

"That's why he not only thought very carefully about everything he would say, but carried out detailed checks of each meeting's agenda, the speeches of the other speakers, and even the arrangement and the lighting in the room, in an effort to make every meeting the best possible. Compromise is the breeding ground of failure.

"'It all comes down to renewing the spirits of the participants and filling them with great joy and burning fighting spirit!'

"He was in earnest. He made a wholehearted effort to make every meeting, every planning session, and every home visit the best possible. That's the key to victory.

"One may be able to get by with perfunctory efforts, but defeat will be waiting in the wings."
