-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Ah Autumn, the harvest time is here
and what a season for cultivating some wonderful friendships!
Let's start each day with a refreshed spirit
by resonantly doing gongyo and daimoku.
Let's make progress "day by day and month after month"*.
*"Strengthen your faith day by day and month after month.
Should you slacken in your resolve even a bit, devils will
take advantage."-"On Persecutions Befalling the Sage",

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"I know your faith has always been admirable, but now you must strengthen it more than ever. Only then will the ten demon daughters lend you even greater protection."

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"How wonderful it is to experience the realm of Buddhism and form a connection with Buddhism! From a long-term perspective, nothing is ever wasted.
"In the Daishonin's writings, the story of how King Ashoka came to be an exemplary monarch of peace is mentioned several times. In one letter, he writes: 'Long ago, the boy called Virtue Victorious fashioned a mud pie and offered it as alms to Shakyamuni Buddha, and later he [the boy] was reborn as King Ashoka, ruler of Jambudvipa [the entire world], and in the end became a Buddha' (WND-2, 653).
"Any action we take for the sake of Buddhism, for our mentor, and for kosen-rufu with a youthful, pure-hearted spirit, though it may seem insignificant at the time, will eventually blossom into unimaginable good fortune and benefit. As the Daishonin notes, even a single mud pie, sincerely offered, can lead to one becoming the ruler of the entire world. Though the law of cause and effect in Buddhism is very strict, it also overflows with truly wondrous and fabulous possibilities. The power of the Mystic Law can turn these into reality."
