-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Let's hold our monthly discussion meetings full of joy and harmony
overflowing, as always, with a strong resolve for kosen-rufu.
Let's always be sure to show how deeply we appreciate those
who offer their homes as meeting places.
Let's also be considerate of the neighbours,
being careful not to cause them any inconvenience.
It is time now to embark upon the last lap of our endeavours
as we put the finishing touches on an amazing year!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"It is rare to be born a human being. The number of those endowed with human life is as small as the amount of earth one can place on a fingernail. Life as a human being is hard to sustain— as hard as it is for the dew to remain on the grass. But it is better to live a single day with honour than to live to 120 and die in disgrace."
(The Three Kinds of Treasure - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, page 851)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Let us live our lives
with courage again today,
in high spirits,
as champions of humanity,
our sights on eternity.
"Almost a millennium ago, the renowned Kyrgyz poet and thinker Yusuf Khass Hajib (also known as Yusuf Balasagun; 1018–1069) wrote: 'My nature is uniform: [like the sun] I never change to something other than light.'[1]
"Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism is the Buddhism of the sun. Each morning, each day, as we resonantly chant daimoku, we cause the sun of time without beginning to rise within us, brightly illuminating our lives and society."
SGI Newsletter No. 8651, A Network of "Friends in the Orchid Room", from the November 2012 issue of Daibyakurenge, translated 16th Oct. 2012
