—— DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
' The Lotus Sutra . . . is known as a sutra that was preached in accordance with the Buddha's own mind. Because the Buddha's mind is an excellent mind, persons who read this sutra, even though they may not understand its meaning, will gain inestimable benefit.'

- From "The Bodies and Minds of Ordinary Beings" (WND-1, 1128).

The Lotus Sutra directly reveals the Buddha's great vow to lead all people to enlightenment as well as his unshakable conviction in their potential to do so.

Teaching in accord with the Buddha's own mind, elucidating the greatness of the Mystic Law just as it is, is the essence of the Lotus Sutra. It is also the Soka Gakkai spirit. Our sincere wish for others' happiness will not fail to be communicated to them.

The times are in urgent need of a philosophy of hope, a philosophy of respect for life. Let us, therefore, share the Mystic Law with even greater confidence, pride, and joy!
