* Had a national press holiday here today. Therefore there is no "To My Friends" today but we held onto "Words of the Week" published the day before to cover the gap!

A translation of President Ikeda's "Words of the Week"
published in the Seikyo Shimbun and more.

Dec 9th-15th, 2013
-- WORDS OF THE WEEK --
Our future depends on our successors.
Let's use our utmost sincerity to
raise our local 'young sprouts' (youth).
At the same time,
let's inspire those who are going to soon be taking school entrance exams
to summon up their courage.
Let's give all the possible support and encouragement we can
to each and every one of our precious young people so that
they will grow into "great trees" and become truly capable individuals.

----DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT----
"In any kind of endeavour, taking the initiative is key. As the Japanese saying goes: 'Seize the initiative and you will win.'

"Failing to take the initiative at the right moment can lead to defeat. Seizing the initiative is the sure way to victory.

"Give full attention to even the smallest matters. Always promptly take the appropriate measures in any situation.

"Each sensitive and earnest action taken for the members' happiness and for the success of our movement spreads joy. Kosen-rufu gains momentum through the passion, encouragement, and swift responses of leaders."
