-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Sharing our own personal experiences in faith with others
kindles our own passion and enthusiasm!
At the same time, it sparks courage and energy
in the hearts of fellow members who are listening!
It's in the midst of the solidarity of our Soka family that
our conviction in faith has the chance to deepen and flourish.

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"(Many hear about and accept this sutra, but when great obstacles
arise, just as they were told would happen, few remember it and bear
it firmly in mind.) To accept is easy; to continue is difficult. But
Buddhahood lies in continuing faith."

(On Rebuking Slander of the Law and Eradicating Sins - The Writings of
Nichiren Daishonin, Vol.1, page 444)

—— DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Where do we find the Land of Tranquil Light taught in Buddhism, in other words, the most ideal realm? It is not somewhere far removed or separate from the suffering-filled reality of life.

"Nichiren Daishonin states that any place where the Bodhisattvas of the Earth propagate the Mystic Law with 'the power of great forbearance' (OTT, 169) is truly a Land of Tranquil Light. He also concludes that this great forbearance is the heart of Shakyamuni, the essential spirit of the Buddha (cf. OTT, 169).

"…The respective places where you have vowed to work for kosen-rufu are Lands of Tranquil Light—places where you are demonstrating the truth of the Daishonin's words that 'Misfortune will change into fortune' (WND-1, 412).

"The Daishonin also writes: 'A hundred years of practice in the Land of Perfect Bliss cannot compare to the benefit gained from one day's practice in the impure world' (WND-1, 736)."

SGI Newsletter No. 8950, 4th Soka Gakkai Headquarters Leaders Meeting, The Mystic Law Is a Source of Immeasurable Hope, from 3rd March, 2014, issue of the Seikyo Shimbun, translation released 11th March 2014
