A translation of "To My Friends" published in the Seikyo Shinbun based on President Ikeda's recent guidance, and more.

-- TO MY FRIENDS --
The more we find ourselves confronted with adversity
the more we burn with the indomitable spirit
of "never being defeated."
Let's help and encourage each other
to keep on going, to keep on trying.
This is the very heart and spirit of Soka.
Now is the time for us to make that great advance
based on unity and empathy!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"(Although I and my disciples may encounter various difficulties, if we do not harbour doubts in our hearts, we will as a matter of course attain Buddhahood. Do not have doubts simply because heaven does not lend you protection. Do not be discouraged because you do not enjoy an easy and secure existence in this life.) This is what I have taught my disciples morning and evening, and yet they begin to harbour doubts and abandon their faith. Foolish men are likely to forget the promises they have made when the crucial moment comes."

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"We, too, by chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo can bring forth this bodhisattva's wisdom and vigorous life force to be able to care for others.
"At times, we may ask ourselves: 'How can I encourage that person?' 'How can I bring a smile to their face?' 'How can I find a solution to this difficult challenge?' By chanting, wrestling with the problem, studying, summoning all our wisdom, and taking action, our sincere intent will definitely reach the other person's heart. We will be able to find a way forwards.
"Truly wise are those who strive to expand friendship through warm consideration and sincerity, and draw on their creativity and ingenuity to make our world a better place."
