A translation of "Words of the Week" published in the Seikyo Shinbun based on President Ikeda's recent guidance, and more.

June 26th - July 2nd, 2017
-- WORDS OF THE WEEK --
Today's hardships
that we may encounter in our activities
are in and of themselves
a happy and enjoyable Buddhist practice
that creates for eternal good fortune and benefit.
By making up our minds,
"We will be victorious, no matter what!"
let's advance with the heart of a lion king.

*"The Daishoinin's teaching that encountering difficulties is itself peaceful is the noble way to construct a great state of life that will endure throughout eternity.
"SGI members tirelessly go from house to house encouraging members. They talk with one friend after another about Buddhism... In the process they are accumulating eternal good fortune."
(Ref.: The Wisdom of the Lotus Sutra, "Peaceful Practises" chapter)

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"And yet, though one might point at the earth and miss it, though one might bind up the sky, though the tides might cease to ebb and flow and the sun rise in the west, it could never come about that the prayers of the practitioner of the Lotus Sutra would go unanswered."

(On Prayer
- WND, Vol. I, page 345)
