-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Each and every one of us is playing
the leading role in the movement
for the creation of peace.
The greatest spirit of
Establishing the Correct Teaching
for the Peace of the Land (Rissho Ankoku)
has continuously and perfectly been inherited
in the solidarity of Soka.
Let's, therefore, continue to advance
with pride in what we are doing!

*SGI President Ikeda comments: "On a societal level, 'establishing the correct teaching' means establishing the concepts of human dignity and the sanctity of life as principles that support and move society."   SGI members strive to put into practise the teachings of Nichiren and to advance the ideal of rissho ankoku in order to help build the foundations of a peaceful world.

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"The 'King Wonderful Adornment' chapter of the Lotus Sutra is especially applicable to women, for it explains how a wife encouraged her husband. In the latter age as well, though her name may differ, a wife who leads her husband to take faith will enjoy the same benefit as Lady Pure Virtue."

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"At the close of the treatise 'On Establishing the Correct Teaching for the Peace of the Land,' the guest expresses his determination: 'It is not enough that I alone should accept and have faith in your words—we must see to it that others as well are warned of their errors' (WND-1, 26). It thus ends with the host and guest making a shared vow.

"This clearly shows the true aim of the dialogue that we are engaging in.

"Above all, increasing, one by one, the number of people who are awakened to the truth of the Mystic Law and share a common vow to make the world a better place is the impetus for creating a peaceful society. Dialogue directed towards 'establishing the correct teaching for the peace of the land,' which elevates shared concerns into a shared vow, is certain to become a vital cornerstone for world peace.

"The dialogue carried out by Soka Gakkai members is fuelled by a belief in the Buddha nature of all people. Awakening the Buddha nature in others is key to realising true happiness for ourselves and others. This is because a shared conviction in our own and others' potential for Buddhahood has the power to transcend all differences and become the foundation of shared happiness and shared peace. This is precisely the kind of dialogue that the world so badly needs today."

SGI Newsletter No. 9710, The Buddhism of the Sun—Illuminating the World, [22] A Religion of Human Revolution—Part 2, A Shared Vow Is the Aim of Dialogue, from the February 2017 issue of the Daibyakurenge, translation released 20th Sep. 2017
