-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Nothing can surpass someone's earnestness.
Always thinking about
how we can assist everyone to become happy,
let's try to use all the wisdom and sincerity
in our actions as we possibly can.
With such "behaviour as a human being,"*
our true worth as a Buddhist shines.
(*)"The Three Kinds of Treasure," WND I, p. 852
"The purpose of the appearance in this world of Shakyamuni Buddha, the lord of teachings, lies in his behaviour as a human being."

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"When one knows the Lotus Sutra, one understands the meaning of all worldly affairs."
(On Repaying Debts of Gratitude
- WND, Vol. 1, page 690)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
""The Daishonin writes: 'Strengthen your faith day by day and month after month. Should you slacken in your resolve even a bit, devils will take advantage' (WND-1, 997). If you begin to think, 'I'm old, it's okay if I scale back my Gakkai activities,' that's the start of decline in your faith. There is no retirement age in faith.
"No matter how much experience one has had as a leader, if one distances oneself from the organisation and grows lax in one's Buddhist practice, it will lead to defeat in life. Though things might appear to go well for a time, in the end one will find oneself alone, and lacking any real sense of fulfilment or joy. The state of one's faith and practice in one's final years, in the closing chapter of one's life, is crucially important.
"Please be a youthful champion of kosen-rufu as long as you live! Calmly disregard self-serving leaders, and keep working steadily and confidently to support the Gakkai. There you will find a life of true worth and fulfilment. Please keep demonstrating this as long as you live."
