[sgi-tomyfriends-wagatomo] June 17th, 2021 To My Friends & Daily Gosho plus June 18th Daily Encouragement

* Our apologies for the misquote of Einstein yesterday! He did indeed not talk about "corporation" but instead of "co-operation"…Hope we didn't create too much confusion!...

A translation of "To My Friends" published in the Seikyo Newspaper based on President Ikeda's recent guidance, and more.

-- TO MY FRIENDS --
For what purpose are we living?
If we can awaken to our
mission for kosen-rufu,
immeasurable life force
will well up from within.
Let's inspire each other
to strengthen our faith
by sharing the pride and joy
of being
Bodhisattvas of the Earth!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Though I may be a person of little ability, I have reverently given myself to the study of the Mahayana. A blue fly, if it clings to the tail of a thoroughbred horse, can travel ten thousand miles, and the green ivy that twines around the tall pine can grow to a thousand feet."

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"The Daishonin highlights the foundation of our practice: 'Exert yourself in the two ways of practice and study. Without practice and study, there can be no Buddhism. You must not only persevere yourself; you must also teach others. Both practice and study arise from faith. Teach others to the best of your ability, even if it is only a single sentence or phrase" (WND-1, 386).

"Chanting with a sincere and open heart brings forth strong life force. Studying Buddhism fills us with conviction and makes our inherent wisdom shine. I hope you will exert yourselves in the 'two ways of practice and study,' making your lives shine the brightest and illuminating all around you with hope and courage."

The Buddhism of the Sun—Illuminating the World, "The True Aspect of All Phenomena"—Take the Lead in Spreading the Philosophy of Respect for the Dignity of Life! Chant with Sincerity, June 2020 issue of the Daibyakurenge - Monthly Soka Gakkai study journal, translation released April 2021.
