"Nichiren Daishonin proved the validity of the Lotus Sutra through his selfless struggle to spread the Mystic Law while enduring persecution. As practitioners directly connected to him, we, the members of the Soka Gakkai, have overcome all kinds of hardship to actualise his vision of 'establishing the correct teaching for the peace of the land' and worldwide kosen-rufu depicted in his writings. This is a source of great pride.
"The compassionate spirit of Nichiren Buddhism shines ever brighter in times of adversity. The Soka Gakkai, the organisation carrying out the Buddha's intent, appeared in the world in an age of crisis for humankind.
