Buddhism teaches the principle of
"earthly desires
lead to enlightenment."*
The bigger the challenge
The bigger the challenge
we take on with our daimoku,
the wider the door
the wider the door
to elevating our life state.
With the spirit of never giving up
With the spirit of never giving up
and with patience,
let's move forwards!
*In Nichiren Buddhism, which teaches that only by burning the "firewood" of problems and suffering can we obtain the "flames" of happiness. In other words, by using suffering as fuel, we gain the "light" and "energy" for happiness. And it is by chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo that we "burn the firewood of earthly desires. When we chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, our problems and sufferings all turn into energy for our happiness, into fuel that enables us to keep moving forwards in our lives. (ref.

"Or it [the nature of cause and effect] is like the case of a single flame, no bigger than the light of a firefly, which, when applied to a thousand-ri plain of dried grass, in the space of an instant burns first one blade of grass, then two, then ten, a hundred, a thousand, and ten thousand, so that the grass and trees over an area of ten or twenty chΕ are consumed all at once. A dragon who places one small drop of water in its claws and ascends to the heavens can cause rain to fall upon the major world system. When performed as an offering to the Lotus Sutra, even a small act of goodness produces benefits that are equal in magnitude to these."

"My mentor, second Soka Gakkai president Josei Toda, explained the doctrines of 'three thousand realms, in a single moment of life' in an easily accessible way by relating it to daily life.
"'Everything in our lives,' he said, 'occurs as a result of the changes unfolding within us. That's why it's important for us to strive to change for the better and ceaselessly create our own happiness. You therefore have to be true to yourself and take responsibility for your own life. Indeed, it's vital to recognise that you have no choice but to do so.'*
"'Being true to yourself, and taking responsibility for your own life' – that is how to live at one with the eternal Mystic Law.
"Mr. Toda expressed this very clearly, saying, 'Decide that your life is none other than Nam-myoho-renge-kyo itself!'"
