-- TO MY FRIENDS --
The Daishonin encourage us,
"You should respect one another
as you would a Buddha."*
Let's praise each other's
efforts and struggles!
Solidarity based on the spirit
of respect for all people
is sure to bring about
the blossoms of
benefit and good fortune.

*"This is what the sutra means when it says, 'You should rise and greet him from afar, showing him the same respect you would a Buddha.' You should respect one another as Shakyamuni and Many Treasures did at
the ceremony in the 'Treasure Tower' chapter."
- "The Fourteen Slanders"
(WND, Vol.1, page 757)

-- DAILY GOSHO --
"The Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings says: 'Great compassion' is like the mercy and compassion that a mother feels for her child. At present it is the mercy and compassion of Nichiren and his followers."

(Simile and Parable chapter
- OTT, page 43)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"'Many of the practitioners from Sado Province have made the long journey all the way to this place [Mount Minobu], and that is why I have expounded for them the teaching that I am propagating now, which will become the seed of Buddhahood in their future lives as well. All of this is due to the blessings of the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha. How marvellous!'

"From 'Reply to the Lay Priest Misawa'

(WND-2, 534).

"There is no nobler or more hope-filled action than praying for the growth of young friends and planting the seeds of the Mystic Law in their lives—for they are the seeds for attaining Buddhahood that will endure into the eternal future. They will produce flowers of happiness both for oneself and others and a growing harvest of peace throughout the world.

"Now, successors of great mission—people who embrace and transmit the Buddha's teachings (see WND-1, 401)—are emerging in a surging tide and developing splendidly. Let's encourage them with warm care and respect and advance together cheerfully.

"Let's hold discussion meetings full of shared joy and friendship as we shine a light on our young successors!"

Towards A Hope Filled Future With The Daishonin's Writings, Let's Hold Joyful Discussion Meetings Shining a Light on Our Young Successors! Translated from 8th July, 2023 issue of the Seikyo Newspaper, translation released October 2023.
