"'A person's heart may change with the times, and the nature of a thing may alter with its surroundings. Just as the moon on the water will be tossed about by the waves, or the soldiers in the vanguard will be cowed by the swords of the enemy.'

"From 'On Establishing the Correct Teaching for the Peace of the Land' 

(WND-1, 23).

"People's hearts change. We can change them. Believing in and awakening people's inherent Buddha nature the supreme potential within is the essence of our dialogues aimed at realising the ideal of 'establishing the correct teaching for the peace of the land' in the same spirit as Nichiren Daishonin.

"When we speak with our friends sincerely, in an open and relaxed way, based on our prayers for their happiness, a profound transformation of hope can occur in their lives. Changing one person's heart is the starting point for changing the hearts of all humankind.

"With joy, goodwill, and cheer, let's spread refreshing waves of friendship in our communities!"
