-- TO MY FRIENDS --
The Gosho, the Writings of Nichiren Daishonin,
is the Buddhist scripture about winning.
"Buddhism primarily concerns itself with victory or defeat."*
If we engrave the Buddha's golden words deeply in our hearts,
it will definitely enable us to open up an "ever-victorious" path.
*"The Hero of the World" - WND-I, page 835
**"The Gosho is the Buddhist scripture for the Latter Day
of the Law."
"The sutra (the Great Collection Sutra) also describes the Latter Day as an
age of unceasing conflict in society. In short, it is a critical time when
both Buddhism and society have reached a deadlock and that, if left in such
a state, will likely lead to further confusion and societal collapse.
"Nichiren Daishonin saw the Japan of his day as the exact description of the
Latter Day illustrated in the sutra. He thus searched for a way to enable
people living in such an age to change their lives fundamentally and realise
absolute happiness, and at the same time transform society. And his
discoveries are just as relevant today."

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is like the roar of a lion. What
sickness can therefore be an obstacle?"

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"I hope our leaders will be people who are liked and admired by many. Those
of you who are veteran leaders have now reached a fine age. Now everything
hinges on whether you can feel a warm affection and desire to treasure the
younger members much in the way grandparents dote on their grandchildren.
Those who have this spirit can truly be called worthy seniors. Those who don
't will only lose out in the end.
"I call on everyone to praise their juniors. Commend them, encourage them,
and greet them warmly. Don't angrily berate them or look down on them. Get
on well with each other as brothers and sisters. I hope you will all take
this to heart.
"It's also important for juniors to show respect to their seniors. Sometimes
there may be leaders whom you don't like, but the important thing is to
unite with them for the sake of kosen-rufu.
"I wish to remind those of you who are senior in years to absolutely do your
utmost to support and protect your juniors. It is my dearest hope that the
Gakkai will always advance together as one, big, happy and harmonious Soka
family."
