-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Let's all work together and do our utmost
to raise as many capable individuals as possible from our district!
It's the momentum from our discussion meetings
that is the very driving force of kosen-rufu's advancement.
Let's all start afresh and strive together on a new departure
to establish a future full of hope!

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"The Buddha's constant thought is how he can lead as many people as possible to Buddhahood.[1]

"It is precisely because we treasure our districts and pray and take action to support our district members as individuals we personally know and care about that we are in tune with the Buddha's intent and can tap the wisdom and power of the Buddha within us.

"When visiting members at the district level, my mentor Josei Toda often said:

"'A robust grassroots organization of people committed to the shared struggle of mentor and disciple can't be built without sustained efforts and painstaking dedication. The strength of the Soka Gakkai is the strength of ordinary people that surges forth from the districts, the front lines of our movement.'

"This is an eternal and unchanging formula."
SGI Newsletter No. 8328, The District Is the Main Force for Victory, from the October 2011 issue of Daibyakurenge, translated Sep. 20th, 2011

[1] The "Life Span" (16th) chapter of the Lotus Sutra closes with the lines: "At all times I think to myself: / How can I cause living beings / to gain entry into the unsurpassed way / and quickly acquire the body of a Buddha?" (LSOC16, 273).
