"The Daishonin writes: 'Words echo the thoughts of the mind and find expression through the voice' (WND-2, 843). Our voices express our thoughts and feelings. The important thing is to speak out courageously, using our voices to the fullest.

"Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (1900–44), author of The Little Prince, left these deeply insightful words:'"There is only one true form of wealth, that of human contact.'[1] He also wrote: 'We travel side by side for years, each [person] enclosed in [their] own silence or exchanging words that convey nothing. But when the hour of danger comes we stand shoulder to shoulder. We discover that we are of the same fellowship. Our consciousness grows in the recognition of other consciousnesses. We look at one another and smile broadly. We are like the prisoner given his freedom, marvelling at the vastness of the sea.'[2]

"It may seem easier to remain closed off in our own private world, but we will not grow as a person. Alone and isolated, our true personality cannot shine. Interaction with others enriches our lives. It is important that we open our hearts and minds, and form ties with others."
