-- TO MY FRIENDS --
"To have faith like water means
to believe continuously without ever regressing"*
By making steady, resolute efforts
in the three ways of faith, practice and study
we are in fact, strengthening our lives.
Let's strive with faith like a clear, flowing stream!
* Gosho, The Two Kinds of Faith - WND1, pg. 899, "Today there are people who have faith in the Lotus Sutra. The belief of some is like fire while that of others is like water. When the former listen to the teachings, their passion flares up like fire, but as time goes on, they tend to discard their faith. To have faith like water means to believe continuously without ever regressing."

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Whatever trouble occurs, regard it as no more than a dream, and think only of the Lotus Sutra."
("Letter to the Brothers"

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Prayer for the sake of kosen-rufu is crucial. What I mean here is prayer infused with a vow to support and protect the Soka Gakkai—the organisation actualising kosen-rufu—and to contribute to its vibrant success and development; prayer based on the spirit that 'Buddhism means winning,' so that we can show actual proof of the greatness of the Mystic Law in our own lives.

"Prayer for the sake of kosen-rufu is crucial. "It is also vital that we continue to chant with courage and compassion for the happiness of all our fellow members without exception.
"The Daishonin writes: 'There can be no doubt that the prayers of those who put faith in the Lotus Sutra will be answered in this world, and that they will enjoy good circumstances in their next existence' (WND-1, 346). 'The prayers of those who put faith in the Lotus Sutra' refers to the prayers of Soka Gakkai members who are assiduously carrying out kosen-rufu. There is not the slightest doubt that we will be able to establish a state of lasting happiness in our present existence that will endure into all future existences." (Speech, April 5, 2008)
