-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Earnest words and discussion
are the driving force
that change society!
To the exact extent we take action
and engage in conversation with others,
the solidarity for good will expands.
"The voice carries out the work of the Buddha."*
Let's summon up our courage
and earnestly and unceasingly
speak out the truth!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Though evils may be numerous, they cannot prevail over a single great truth, just as many raging fires are quenched by a single shower of rain. This principle also holds true with Nichiren and his followers."
("Many in Body, One in Mind" WND-I, page 618)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Nichiren Daishonin, the Buddha of the Latter Day of the Law, is surely praising the noble efforts of all of you who are reaching out in dialogue to share the humanistic principles of Buddhism with others. There is absolutely no doubt that the heavenly deities as well as all Buddhas and bodhisattvas throughout the ten directions and three existences are watching over and protecting you.
"Let's once again engrave in our hearts a passage from the Daishonin's writings that I read with the Kansai members 60 years ago during the Osaka Campaign:[1]
"'What could any of you have to lament? Even if you are not the Venerable Mahakashyapa, you should all perform a dance. Even if you are not Shariputra, you should leap up and dance. When Bodhisattva Superior Practices emerged from the earth, did he not emerge dancing?' (WND-1, 1119)
"To confront any challenge with the powerful life force of a Bodhisattva of the Earth and perform a bold dance of victory with joyous and exuberant courage, with wisdom, and with fortitude—that is the Soka Gakkai spirit.
"Our faith based on our vow for kosen-rufu enables us to transform everything into an impetus for changing poison into medicine.
"Precisely because 'The voice carries out the work of the Buddha' (OTT, 4), let's encourage one another with bright, lively voices ringing with hope, courage, and conviction."
SGI Newsletter No. 9419, Creating the New Era, (14) Encouraging One Another with Voices Ringing with Hope, Courage, and Conviction, from 14th May, 2016, issue of the Seikyo Shimbun, translation released 6th July, 2016
[1] Osaka Campaign: In May 1956, the Kansai members, uniting around a young Daisaku Ikeda, who had been dispatched by second Soka Gakkai president Josei Toda to support them, introduced 11,111 households to the practice of the Daishonin's Buddhism.
