"As many of you know, Nichikan Shonin (1665-1726) wrote: 'If you have faith in this Gohonzon and chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo even for a short while, no prayer will go on unanswered, no offense unexpiated, no good fortune unbestowed and no righteousness unproven.'* All people can benefit equally from this tremendous power of the Gohonzon. The key is courageous faith. We need courage in everything we set out to do, from gongyo to talking with people about Buddhism."
