"The Daishonin writes: 'The Lotus Sutra is the king of sutras, the direct path to enlightenment, for it explains that the entity of our life, which manifests either good or evil at each moment, is in fact, the entity of the Mystic Law' (WND-1, 4).
"In reality, our ever-changing state of mind is itself, an entity of the Mystic Law. And though we may be told that our life is an entity of the Mystic Law, it is 'fundamental ignorance'* that prevents us from believing this. Such ignorance is the cause of all suffering, which only the 'sharp sword' of faith can dispel (cf.OTT, 119–20)."
