--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"If a person cannot manage to cross a moat ten feet wide,
how can he cross one that is a hundred or two hundred
feet?"

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"The Filipino poet Nick Joaquin (1917-2004) has stated: 'The history of
Manila can be put in three words: challenge and response.' In other words,
Manila has responded courageously to the challenges of war and disaster, and
has triumphed.

"Whether on the level of the individual, society, or civilisation as a
whole, the key to meaningful progress, growth, and creativity lies in
responding courageously to challenges and continuing to make positive
efforts for the future. It is a mistake to seek escape from hardships and
simply skate through life. Real meaning in one's youth and one's life is
found in earnest struggle."
