-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Today, once again, let us experience the joy
of challenging and striving towards our goals cheerfully and in high
spirits!
An attitude of sincere appreciation (towards all the opportunities we get to
struggle and grow,)
is the very cause that will adorn our lives with great good fortune and
happiness!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Were Nichiren and I bound by a promise to be teacher and disciple from the
beginningless past, or were we not? Was I sent as an envoy of Shakyamuni
Buddha to assist him in his efforts to spread the teachings?"

(Reply to Sairen-bo- The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol.1, page 312)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"The renowned Dutch humanist Erasmus (1469-1536) said: 'The mind will bear
good fruit if it is sown with good seeds, but if it is neglected it will be
grown over with weeds that must shortly be pulled up.' Forgetting our
spiritual growth and pursuing only empty pleasures marks the beginning of
decline and degeneration. Spiritual stagnation leads to defeat.

"Enriching society with the spirit of Buddhist compassion, let us continue
to reach out to others and forge new friendships."

SGI Newsletter No. 7670, EXECUTIVE LEADERS CONFERENCE--PART 1 [OF 2].
Challenging Our Human Revolution, from the Nov. 14th, 2008, issue of the
Seikyo Shimbun, translated Dec. 9th, 2008.
