-- TO MY FRIENDS --
In the land of the great Tohoku*,
a stable solidarity of capable people has been established
through the shared struggle of mentor and disciples.
Now is the time for everyone to stand up and take concrete action.
With perfect unity for the sake of truth and justice,
mustering up great courage,
let us overcome our limitations
and achieve record-breaking achievements!

*Tohoku is the north-eastern region of Japan, covering Aomori, Akita, Iwate, Yamagata, Miyagi and Fukushima Prefectures.

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"The fact that we have been born into this world means that we each have our own unique mission that only we can fulfil. Otherwise, we would not have been born. The universe does nothing in vain; everything has meaning. Even plants that we spurn as 'weeds' serve a function. Each living thing has its own unique identity, role, and purpose--the cherry as a cherry, the plum as a plum, the peach as a peach, the damson as a damson."
SGI Newsletter No. 8159, THE POWER OF YOUTH: LEARNING FROM THE GUIDANCE OF SGI PRESIDENT IKEDA, from the February 2011 issue of the Daibyakurenge, translated Feb. 10th, 2011
