-- TO MY FRIENDS --
The Daishonin encourages us to treat our friends with courtesy.*
Utmost sincerity in our actions is first and foremost
in order to gain the trust of another person.
Let's offer warm and genuinely caring words, right from the heart,
that are filled with our truly honest wish for their happiness.
*"... treating one's friends with courtesy means that, although one may encounter them ten or twenty times in the course of a single day, one greets them courteously as though they had travelled a thousand or two thousand miles to see one, never showing them indifference." - "The Four Virtues and the Four Debts of Gratitude", WND-II, page 636

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"If you care anything about your personal security, you should first of all pray for order and tranquillity throughout the four quarters of the land, should you not?"

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"As leaders, there are three keys to fostering new members—caring, encouraging, and supporting. The spirit of compassion is the foundation of Buddhism. When others know that we are truly concerned for them, have been chanting for them, value them, speak from the heart to help them change for the better, and treat them kindly, they are profoundly moved and the strength to live with hope and vigour wells forth within them.
"One person inspiring another, transcending all differences—this can lead to changing society at the most fundamental level."
