-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Through the great shared struggle of mentor and disciple,
the light of Buddhism is now radiantly shining all over the world.
Let's proudly hoist the banner of truth and justice high
and gracefully dance a dance of victory for the new era.
Together,
let's fulfill the great vow of achieving kosen-rufu!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"If in a single moment of life we exhaust the pains and trials of millions of kalpas, then instant after instant there will arise in us the three Buddha bodies with which we are eternally endowed. Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is just such a 'diligent' practice."

(Ongi kuden - Gosho Zenshu, page 790, The Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings, page 214) Selection Source: Kyo no Hosshin, Seikyo Shinbun, May 3rd, 2013

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Reaching out to support and sincerely listening to those who are suffering constitute the actions of a bodhisattva. Nichiren Daishonin describes bodhisattvas as those who care for others more than themselves and who impart good to others and bear the brunt of evil themselves (cf. WND-2, 201).

"To empathise with the suffering and sorrow of others, to take on others' hardships as if they were our own, and to impart hope and courage to all—this is the essence of what it means to be a bodhisattva."

SGI Newsletter No. 8757, Encouragement for Soka Educators, (3) Illuminating Your Communities with the Light of Education—Part 1 [of 3], from the April 28th, 2012, issue of the Seikyo Shimbun, translated 30th April 2013
