-- TO MY FRIENDS --
The Daishonin teaches the importance of
courtesy towards one's friends.*
It is indeed our sincere and courteous attitude
that moves other's hearts.
Today, again,
let's happily and optimistically cultivate new friendships.

*"Third, treating one's friends with courtesy means that, although one may encounter them ten or twenty times in the course of a single day, one greets them courteously as though they had travelled a thousand or two thousand miles to see one, never showing them indifference." - "The Four Virtues and the Four Debts of Gratitude", WND-II, page 636

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"And yet, though one might point at the earth and miss it, though one might bind up the sky, though the tides might cease to ebb and flow and the sun rise in the west, it could never come about that the prayers of the practitioner of the Lotus Sutra would go unanswered."

(On Prayer, The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol. 1, page 345) Selection Source: "Kyo no Hosshin", Seikyo Shimbun, May 5th, 2013

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Big meetings of hundreds or thousands can be uplifting and help us gain momentum. But what really matters is the one-on-one interaction that smaller meetings can provide, because that's where the roots of faith are formed. Granted that big meetings may be exciting, but unless each member's faith is firmly rooted, they will be swept away when the slightest wind of adversity blows."

SGI Newsletter No. 8755, The New Human Revolution––Vol. 26: Chap. 2, Banner of the Law 17, translated 25th April, 2013
