Trust is the most valuable asset
that we can ever develop in life.
To all of our young friends,
no matter what kind of position or situation
you might be in right now,
may I encourage you to seriously take on every challenge and task
by putting forth your very best.

"The 'great vow' refers to the propagation of the Lotus Sutra."

--DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT--
"What matters in life? It is to strive with a sincere wish to support and help others. It is to be a person for whom others feel deep appreciation, saying, 7Your encouragement helped me get back on my feet!' It is to be a person who is regarded as an indispensable treasure by others.

"My mentor, second Soka Gakkai president Josei Toda, said: 'As leaders, I hope you will do your utmost to take care of the members and sincerely guide them so that they can savour the joy of faith and be truly glad that they are practicing the Daishonin's Buddhism.'

"No matter how firm a person's determination may be, there will be times when they feel discouraged. That's why I have always used every possible means to try to encourage and brighten the spirits of my fellow members.

"Some of our members are so busy that they can't participate in SGI activities very often. I would like those around them to be understanding of their situations and warmly encourage them. Making greater efforts to show support and care to those who are unable to attend meetings will accelerate the momentum of kosen-rufu significantly."

SGI Newsletter No. 8937, On Our Shared Journey for Kosen-rufu-I, (39) Always Making an Effort to Warmly Encourage Everyone, from 11th Nov., 2012, issue of the Seikyo Shimbun translated 20th Feb. 2014
