-- TO MY FRIENDS --
The Gosho teaches us:
"Iron, when heated in the flames and pounded, becomes a fine sword."*
Young people, please strive to overcome any and all hardships!
It's only through the process of challenging and overcoming difficulties
that human beings can become truly great.
*Gosho, Letter from Sado - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol. 1,
page 303, "Iron, when heated in the flames and pounded, becomes a fine
sword. Worthies and sages are tested by abuse."

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"And yet, though one might point at the earth and miss it, though one
might bind up the sky, though the tides might cease to ebb and flow
and the sun rise in the west, it could never come about that the
prayers of the practitioner of the Lotus Sutra would go unanswered."
(On Prayer - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol. 1, page 345)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"My mentor, second Soka Gakkai president Josei Toda, condemned the arrogance and egotism of those who looked down on decent, honest, ordinary people. He declared: 'Real religion, true Buddhism, helps those who are suffering. The Soka Gakkai is the ally of the people; it is the friend of the unfortunate.'
"Having taken on the struggle to eradicate misery from society, we can never slacken in our efforts. We must advance with all our might, all our being.
"The most important thing is to support those striving hard on the front lines of our movement. Let's do everything we can towards that end."
