--- DAILY GOSHO ---

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
Nichiren Daishonin writes: "If you want to understand what results will be manifested in the future, look at the causes that exist in the present" (WND-1, 279).No matter what has happened up to now, change is always possible. We can create a new path from the present into the future.
All of you have within your lives the power to calmly surmount whatever problems you are facing now. You just have to tap into that power. That's why, even if you experience a disappointment, I want you to bring forth invincible courage and envision a better future. If you look toward the future, your horizons will expand. When you imagine a brighter future, you'll know what you need to do right now.
When I spoke with the African environmental activist Wangari Maathai (1940–2011) eight years ago (in 2005), she conveyed the message to the youth that they needed to understand that the future is not far away; it is now. If there is something they want to achieve in the future, she said, they need to act now.
I would like to dedicate those words, which epitomized Dr. Maathai's life, to all of you.
