— TO MY FRIENDS --
Let's offer our heartfelt and warmest encouragement
to those who are suffering from illness,
as well as to those family members who are engaged
in the task of supporting and nursing them back to good health.
It's our sticking by their sides in the midst of their toughest moments
that the light of hope at the end of the tunnel shines, and everyone can advance.

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Nevertheless, even though you chant and believe in Myoho-renge-kyo,
if you think the Law is outside yourself, you are embracing not the
Mystic Law but an inferior teaching."

(On Attaining Buddhahood in This Lifetime - The Writings of Nichiren
Daishonin, Vol. 1, page 3)

—— DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ——
"Nichiren Daishonin waged a great struggle to communicate his message. He declared that he had 'never spared his voice' (OTT, 57), and that he always 'spoke out without restraint' (WND-2, 702).

"The voice of the people can transform history.

"When striving to achieve momentous development in our movement for kosen-rufu, members can become exhausted and sometimes worry if they'll be able to succeed. That's the time for leaders to offer encouragement so that everyone can continue forging ahead with joy and courage. Words of encouragement are a wonderful way and means to inspire others.

"One function of leaders is finding ways to help everyone tap and utilize their potential. If everyone can give full play to their potential, it will serve as the driving force for victory in our efforts for kosen-rufu."

SGI Newsletter No. 8976, On Our Shared Journey for Kosen-rufu—I, (42) Advancing with the Same Spirit as Our Mentor, from 2nd Dec., 2012, issue of the Seikyo Shimbun, translation released 15th April 2014
