[SGI-ToMyFriends-Wagatomo] 12th-18th May, 2014 Words of the Week, 12th May, 2014 Daily Gosho plus 13th May, 2014 Daily Enc.

We have been informed that from now on "Words of the Week" will appear
on Mondays and "To My Friends" will appear on the other days of the week. So
here's to a new format!

A translation of President Ikeda's "Words of the Week"
published in the Seikyo Shimbun and more.

May 12th-18th, 2014
-- WORDS OF THE WEEK --
Continuity and repetition -
these are the key elements to opening up a great path to kosen-rufu.
If we patiently and sincerely continue to share this Buddhism with others
the connections that we have helped them to form
will definitely become stronger.
Let's therefore carry on engaging in conversation
with as many people as possible
and again share our conviction about this Buddhism boldly and confidently!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"In the past, and in the present Latter Day of the Law, the rulers, high
ministers, and people who despise the votaries of the Lotus Sutra seem
to be free from punishment at first, but eventually they are all doomed
to fall."

(On Persecutions Befalling the Sage - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin,
Vol 1, page 997) Selection source: "Kyo no Hosshin", Seikyo Shimbun,
May 12th, 2014

—— DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ——
"…plotting and deviousness are standard methods employed by evil people
to malign the good and true. The same pattern that we see in the
Daishonin's time remains in use today. But wrongs are always exposed in
the end. The self-assured actions of the good and true make the
difference between right and wrong eminently clear. That is the message
that the Daishonin wished to impart to his disciples."

SGI Newsletter No. 8992, Learning from the Writings of Nichiren
Daishonin: The Teachings for Victory, [56] "False Official
Documents"[1], Profound Gratitude for a Follower's Sincerity, from the
Sep. 2013 issue of the Daibyakurenge, translation released 3rd May, 2014.
