-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Let's make sure that our planning meetings
and all our other meetings finish as scheduled!
Leaders talks should not be too long and
the points of their talk need to be quite clear.
Let's try to be well-prepared for each meeting.

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"(The second reason is that the Thus Come One Shakyamuni is the father
and mother of all living beings in this saha world. It is proper that
we should first of all pay filial respect to our own father and mother,
and only then extend the same kind of respect to the fathers and mothers
of other people.) We have the example of King Wu of the ancient land of
Chou, who carved a wooden image of his deceased father and placed it in
a carriage, designating it as the general who would lead his troops into
battle. (Heaven, moved by such conduct, lent him protection, and thus he
succeeded in overthrowing his enemy, Chou, the king of Yin.)"
(The Tripitaka Master Shan-wu-wei - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin,
Volume 1, page 170)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Everything depends on the strength of our faith. When we have strong
faith, our life itself becomes a 'cluster of blessings' (WND-1, 832),
which is how the Daishonin describes the Gohonzon. He further states:
'This Gohonzon also is found only in the two characters for faith'[1]
(WND-1, 832).
"People of strong faith, therefore, never reach a deadlock. No matter
what happens, they can transform everything into a source of benefit and
happiness. Naturally, in the long course of our lives, we are bound to
encounter various kinds of problems and suffering. But we will be able
to turn all difficulties into nourishment for developing a higher state
of life. In this respect, for practitioners of the Daishonin's
Buddhism, everything is ultimately a source of benefit and happiness at
the most profound level. The word 'unhappiness' does not exist in the
vocabulary of those who have strong faith."
SGI Newsletter No. 9000, The Wisdom for Creating Happiness and Peace,
Part 1: Happiness, 2.2 Buddhahood Is the Sun within Us, from the May
2014 issue of the Daibyakurenge, translation released 26th May, 2014

characters.
