-- TO MY FRIENDS --
The way to set the stage for a hope-filled day
is to begin with bright and cheerful greetings!
It's through our own personal behaviour
that we can breathe positive energy and a spirit of enthusiasm
into the lives of the people we are connected to
in our neighbourhood and workplace!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"The moon moves from the west eastward, a sign of how the Buddhism of India spread in an easterly direction. The sun rises in the east, an auspicious sign of how the Buddhism of Japan is destined to return to the Land of the Moon."

(On Reprimanding Hachiman
- The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol 2, page 936)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Sister Sue, a children's book authored by Eleanor H. Porter (1868–1920), paints a picture of how enormous the challenge of nursing a sick loved one at home can be. Sue, the main character, loses her mother and is then left to care for her sick father and younger siblings. Consequently, she is forced to give up her personal dreams. In the course of her struggles, however, Sue awakens to the fact that being relied upon and needed by others is the greatest form of happiness, and devotes her life to helping people.

"The effort to care for and support life shines with an infinitely noble light. In many of his writings, Nichiren Daishonin praises those who cared for ill family members.

"From the perspective of the eternity of life throughout the three existences of past, present, and future as well, let's have deep conviction in the law of cause and effect as stated in the passage, 'Where there is unseen virtue, there will be visible reward' (WND-1, 907)."
