"Nichiren Daishonin wrote these words to a disciple who was preparing to participate in a debate for the sake of kosen-rufu. The Daishonin instructs him to pray intently for the protective functions of the universe to enter his life. "All Buddhas will lend their support to those who are steadfastly striving to fulfil the great vow for kosen-rufu. That is how respectworthy we are. As such, we are certain to be thoroughly protected by the heavenly deities.
