— TO MY FRIENDS --
Try not to be flustered
or controlled by immediate happenings.
The Daishonin teaches us,
"Buddhahood lies in continuing faith."*
To continue our faith and practice is indeed
what enables us to attain absolute happiness**.

*"The Difficulty of Sustaining Faith" - WND-I, page 471
**President Toda used the term "absolute happiness" to describe the state of mind in which we can feel that life itself is a joy. If you persevere in faith, you will definitely come to experience this. (ref.: http://www.sgi.org/sgi-president/writings-by-sgi-president-ikeda/on-practice.html)

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Although I and my disciples may encounter various difficulties, if we do not harbour doubts in our hearts, we will as a matter of course attain Buddhahood. Do not have doubts simply because heaven does not lend you protection. Do not be discouraged because you do not enjoy an easy and secure existence in this life."

(The Opening of the Eyes - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Volume 2, page 283)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"We of the SGI are working to build a society where those who have suffered the most can shine with the greatest happiness. No matter how daunting the challenges we face, we must never retreat a single step in our efforts.

"It is through tackling adverse circumstances that we can grow into invincible champions."

SGI Newsletter No. 9245, Dynamically Advancing into the New Era, (12) Building Eternally Imperishable Citadels of Capable People, from 5th April, 2015, issue of the Seikyo Shimbun, translation released 20th May, 2015
