"Nichiren Daishonin wrote: 'But still I am not discouraged. The Lotus Sutra is like the seed, the Buddha like the sower, and the people like the field' (WND-1, 748).
"This is the Latter Day of the Law, an age of conflict, and the times are confused and troubled. As heirs to the true lineage of Nichiren Daishonin, we have a special mission to restore hope and purpose to desolate hearts.
"In the spirit of the Daishonin's declaration 'but still I am not discouraged,' let us continue to energetically chant, take action, and talk with others. Let us persevere in sowing the seeds of the Mystic Law and creating a magnificent flowering of happiness, of capable people, and of peace, culture, and education in our local communities and the world at large."
