-- TO MY FRIENDS --
To the extent we take action
and to the extent we engage
people in conversation
is the extent to which we can witness
the limitless expansion of kosen-rufu.
With the spirit in our faith and practice
of "now more than ever"
let' challenge new heights
and set new personal records of success!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Nevertheless, even though you chant and believe in Myoho-renge-kyo, if you think the Law is outside yourself, you are embracing not the Mystic Law but an inferior teaching."

(On Attaining Buddhahood in This Lifetime - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol. 1, page 3)

Selection source: "Kyo no Hosshin",  Seikyo Shinbun, March 17th, 2017

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Writing to the lay nun Myoho, who sincerely sought his teachings, the Daishonin describes the power of chanting daimoku: 'When once we chant Myoho-renge-kyo,[1] with just that single sound we summon forth and manifest the Buddha nature of all . . . living beings. This blessing is immeasurable and boundless' (WND-1, 887).

"As we continue to make the sound of our chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo reverberate unceasingly throughout the world, let's courageously reach out to others in dialogue and bring the sun of hope to rise in the hearts of all whom we encounter."

SGI Newsletter No. 9569, The Women of Soka—Ever-Radiant Suns of Kosen-rufu, from the April 2017 issue of the Daibyakurenge, translation released 16th March, 2017

[1] Myoho-renge-kyo is written with five Chinese characters, while Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is written with seven (nam, or namu, being comprised of two characters). The Daishonin often uses Myoho-renge-kyo synonymously with Nam-myoho-renge-kyo in his writings.
