-- TO MY FRIENDS --
The Daishonin reminds us,
"You cannot strike fire from flint if you stop halfway."*
Everyday, let's challenge ourselves
and make progress!
That's the sustainability we need
in our practice in order
to elevate our life condition
and develop indestructible
happiness in our lives!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"I am praying that, no matter how troubled the times may become, the Lotus Sutra and the ten demon daughters will protect all of you, praying as earnestly as though to produce fire from damp wood, or to obtain water from parchedground."

(On Rebuking Slander of the Law and Eradicating Sins
- WND, Vol. 1, page 444)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"The Daishonin explained that the karmic connection linking mentor and disciple is not limited to this existence. He declares it to be 'a bond that bridges the three existence' (WND-2, 375; 'On the Five Seasonal Festivals,' addressed to Akimoto Taro), and says that we have been 'pledged to each other as teacher and disciple from the countless kalpas in the past' (WND-1, 309; Reply to Sairen-bo).
Both are passages that founding Soka Gakkai president Tsunesaburo Makiguchi engraved deeply in his life.

"Mentor and disciple do not encounter one another by coincidence. They are bound by a karmic connection that extends throughout past, present and future, the Daishonin assures us."
