[SGI-ToMyFriends-Wagatomo] To My Friends & Daily Gosho April 18th + Daily Enc. April 19th

Oh crumbs! What a mistake! Our apologies. Here is the correct version!

A translation of President Ikeda's "To My Friends"
published in the Seikyo Shimbun and more.

-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Carelessness, overconfidence and arrogance are our greatest enemies.
Let's chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo with a clearly focused mind
and determination that everyone will be safe and victorious.
This faith and practice promises,
"No prayers will go unanswered."*
We will definitely be victorious!

* When we chant daimoku just as the Daishonin instructs, our voices resonate
throughout the entire universe. Just as a soft voice can be transformed into
a booming voice through the use of a good megaphone, when we chant
Nam-myoho-renge-kyo with heartfelt prayer, we can move the entire universe.
As Nichikan, the twenty-sixth high priest, says: "[If you have faith in this
Gohonzon and chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo even for a short while] no prayer
will go unanswered, no offence unexpiated, no good fortune unbestowed, and
all righteousness proven."
(The Wisdom of the Lotus Sutra, Volume 5, page 152)

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"But it is better to live a single day with honour than to live to 120 and
die in disgrace."

(The Three Kinds of Treasure - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol.1,
page 851) Selection source: "Kyo no
Hosshin", Seikyo Shimbun, April 18th, 2009

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"In times of sorrow, adversity, or suffering, never forget the hope-filled
Buddhist principles of 'earthly desires leading to enlightenment' and
'changing poison into medicine.' Just take that courageous first step and
make your way forwards, ever forwards, together with me and with your fellow
members."

SGI Newsletter No. 7757, SGI Ikeda Kayo-kai—Winning in Youth, translated
April 17th, 2009, from the May 2009 issue of Daibyakurenge, the Soka Gakkai
monthly study journal.
